Romelu Lukaku and Matteo Darmian not included in Manchester United trip to Kristiansund

by Leo Nieboer

Romelu Lukaku and Matteo Darmian have been left out of Manchester United’s travelling squad to Norway as the pair head closer towards the exit door at Old Trafford.

The former has been in negotiations with Inter Milan for some time and suggested on social media yesterday that a move to Serie A was on the verge of happening.

Darmian, meanwhile, looks destined for a return to his homeland after only making seven appearances in all competitions for Man United last season.

It has been confirmed by the BBC that the pair were not with the United squad as they travelled to Kristiansund, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s hometown, for a pre-season match on Tuesday.

Neither Lukaku nor Darmian featured during the club’s pre-season tour of Australia and Asia, but the pair are understood to be injury-free.

Lukaku has been locked in negotiations with Inter for some time but Juventus have recently entered the race, offering Paulo Dybala as part of the deal.

Either way, one thing is clear: Lukaku is leaving Manchester United.
