Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has had words of wisdom to pass on to new club record signing Harry Maguire after completing his transfer.
The towering centre-back has kicked up a fuss over whether he was worth the money spent on him or not.
Ferdinand was also a record signing in his time and so he’s passed on advice from one record signing to another.
Maguire will have plenty of pressure on his shoulders with fans, neutrals and critics all watching keenly to see what he can bring to the table.
If United’s struggles continue into this season, it’s likely the talented Englishman will be blamed for their failures, similarly to how Paul Pogba has been over the past few years.
"I think the biggest issue for Harry Maguire is gonna be the comparisons with Virgil van Dijk."

It’s difficult to imagine Maguire struggling at Old Trafford, he’s had plenty of Premier League and international experience and should slot right into the backline easily.
There shouldn’t be a period of transition or adjustment but hopefully he’s fit enough to deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s demanding tactics.
Since Manchester United took so long to sign him, Maguire hasn’t experienced a pre-season with the legendary Norwegian who could’ve coached the methods or tactics to him.
Either way, with the former Hull man now on board, Solskjaer has rebuilt his side’s defence pretty quickly and they now suddenly look far more solid.
