Manchester United are reportedly planning on David de Gea’s potential departure and have targeted Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak as his replacement.
The sensational Spaniard has entered his final contract with the club and with no end in sight in terms of a renewal, it makes sense to plan for a replacement.
It’s tough to imagine anyone is capable of replacing De Gea but fans would certainly be happy with Oblak as he’s also one of the best in the world.
United have been trying to wrap up a deal for the former Atletico Madrid man for ages now so the question becomes, have they tried everything they can?
Fans would probably offer De Gea a blank cheque but it’s unlikely the club did so despite his many years of service and how tough it would be to replace him.
#mufc will attempt to sign Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid) in January if De Gea does not sign a new contract before then. The club will look to sell De Gea in January if he refuses to renew in the coming months to avoid losing him for free next summer #mulive [as]

Whatever the Red Devils end up spending on Oblak they could instead use that to convince De Gea to dedicate the last part of career to Old Trafford.
The 28 year old has actually been the captain for the majority of the club’s fixtures this season in the absence of Ashley Young.
It makes little sense to lose someone who Ole Gunnar Solskjaer considers to be a leader but De Gea does need to make his mind up soon or else depart in the same way Ander Herrera did.
