Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly targeting the Premier League as he attempts to prepare for his potentially new job.
Having left Juventus, the Italian tactician is without work and will likely be pounced upon by whatever top team needs him next.
Manchester United’s struggles of late have seen rumours resurface linking the two parties once more though there are still some obstacles in the way preventing that from happening.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the current manager and it’s believed the club’s board are fully backing him and his long-term project.
However, despite all of that, the reports continue to flood in over a possible sacking and so uncertainty remains.
According to the Guardian, Allegri has been learning English as he’s keen on the Old Trafford job. The Red Devils don’t intend to sack Solskjaer but the former Juventus man is on a two or three man shortlist should things go south.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward must come out publicly and back the former striker, if he truly does, otherwise the rumours will remain.
It’s an unnecessary pressure on the squad and Solskjaer himself that could easily be put to bed by the Manchester United board to help move matters along smoothly.
