Manchester United targeting special type of players for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United reportedly had their reasons for turning down the opportunity to sign replacements for Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez despite a thin squad.

Some fans feel the squad this season is arguably worse than last season and it’s difficult to debate this too much.

After all, several senior players left with United only signing three players last summer, with two of the three actually not needed in terms of numbers.

These two were Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire, though it’s obvious they were needed for the sake of adding quality to the first-team.

Sanchez and Lukaku left to Inter Milan on different kinds of deals but it was clear they needed replacing and unfortunately the club failed to deliver.

What the press have been briefed is in contradiction to what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer only recently said which is that the club couldn’t get the replacement signing over the line.

This is obviously different to not finding the players they want and so it’s clear there’s a lack of harmony between the two parties.

It’s entirely unsurprising given how David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho all complained over the club’s inability to sign their first-choice players.

In fact the Dutchman actually claimed that he didn’t even get his back-up players and often went far down the list to sign who he wants.
