Roy Keane insists Manchester United won’t improve with Christian Eriksen

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United great Roy Keane has surprisingly stated his belief that Tottenham star Christian Eriksen won’t improve Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s current squad.

The legendary Norwegian has looked in desperate need of reinforcements in midfield and with the talented Dane said to be on the lookout for a move, it seemed to be a good match.

Eriksen’s contract runs out next summer so the belief was that United wouldn’t really have to overpay to buy him and if they were willing to play the waiting game they could just sign him for free.

Solskjaer’s current attacking-midfielders are Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira and Angel Gomes so it’s safe to say most would believe the 27 year old is an improvement on any of the above.

Not only is Keane apparently not a fan of Eriksen but he’s also made an unfair comparison with a current Red Devils star.

Eriksen’s versatility would also help Manchester United as he’s capable as a central midfielder as well and can play on the flanks if needed.

Mata has been on the decline for a while and Lingard has been out of form for at least a year now.

In terms of Gomes and Pereira it’s obvious Eriksen is better than the both of them so it’s difficult to see where Keane is coming from.
