Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hails James Garner’s impact vs Norwich

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted at who may start the Carabao Cup clash vs Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The legendary Norwegian is in desperate need of some form of silverware if their Premier League campaign is going to carry on as it has so far and what better competition is there?

The Blues are a completely different side to the one United dismantled 4-0 last time but Solskjaer will be hoping for a repeat nonetheless.

Frank Lampard’s men have improved tenfold since and are currently in their best run of form of the season.

The Red Devils may be tempted to prioritise the Premier League but defeating Chelsea in a cup competition could go some way in terms of momentum.

According to the club’s official website, Solskjaer said: “For just 10, 15 minutes tonight Jimmy played as well.

“I thought he was excellent, because he’s calmed us down when we wanted to see the game out.

“So we’ve not made a decision on who is going to play [at Chelsea] but you’ll probably see the two of them [Garner and Williams].”

Fans have grown to quickly love Brandon Williams in particular after some strong showings though many acknowledge James Garner’s incredible potential.

The latter hasn’t gotten as many minutes as the former but that might change on Wednesday night after his impressive cameo appearance vs Norwich last weekend.

Williams’ performances have been so good many fans believe he can seriously challenge Luke Shaw for a starting XI berth and Solskjaer seemed to hint so as well.
