Paul Scholes calls for more support for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United great Paul Scholes has called for more backroom support in order for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to truly succeed in terms of signing players.

The legendary Norwegian has invested well over the summer as the majority of fans will agree but the one criticism is he didn’t invest enough.

Supporters understand it’s almost guaranteed Solskjaer wanted plenty more ins but didn’t get them due to the incompetent board at United.

The need for a director of football or technical director to be involved is widely known yet the club have avoided hiring anyone despite making promises to do so.

Scholes has reinforced the idea by insisting someone who has a football background has to be involved with the decision making of the board so that they can deliver better results for Solskjaer.

There have been reports claiming the Red Devils’ board are only capable of making three signings each summer which is why Solskjaer didn’t get any more in through the door.

If that’s the case then it’s seriously shocking given the transfer budget at Old Trafford as well as the other wealth of resources needed to make deals happen.

If Solskjaer has to wait every summer to make just three measly signings then the club can never improve enough to overtake their rivals; it’s either that or he won’t be able to get results quick enough before he’s let go.
