Scott McTominay will miss Manchester United’s clashes with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City on December 4 and 7 due to an ankle injury sustained against Brighton & Hove Albion, according to reports.
The Scot has played a fundamental approach under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, featuring in all 12 games so far this term.
He picked up what looked like quite a nasty ankle injury during the closing stages of Man United’s 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
According to The Mirror, initial scans show that McTominay is likely to miss four weeks of action, potentially ruling him out of successive big games against Spurs and Man City at the start of December.
The 22-year-old is also set to miss games against Sheffield United, Astana, Aston Villa and AZ Alkmaar.
United fans will hope that McTominay’s injury, at the very least, aligns with the return of Paul Pogba, whose earliest possible comeback is the meeting with the Blades at Bramall Lane on November 24.
