Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic are unavailable for Sheffield United clash

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic are all unavailable for Manchester United’s meeting with Sheffield United on Sunday.

Pogba’s problem dates back to prior to the September international break, and while it was initially thought that he could return for Sunday’s game, Solskjaer’s latest comments suggest that he could be out for another month.

Moreover, McTominay, one of United’s best players this season, appears to still be feeling the effects of an injury sustained during the 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Matic, on the other hand, has been sidelined with an unspecified issue since that horrible 1-0 defeat to Newcastle ahead of the October international break.

Having confirmed that all three are unavailable for Sunday, Solskjaer has a real selection headache ahead of what will be a highly challenging affair against a side currently fifth in the Premier League.

Fred, of course, will be involved, as will Andreas Pereira, potentially playing a deeper role than normal. Maybe Axel Tuanzebe, if he is fit, can play in that role?

Either way, Solskjaer must be astute with his selections or face being overwhelmed at Brammal Lane.
