Manchester United fans were thoroughly unimpressed by Tahith Chong who was given a rare start in the first-team in the clash vs Astana.
With nothing to lose, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted to play a host of youngsters in the Europa League given the lack of pressure on their shoulders.
It was a chance to impress for many in a lowkey affair and some academy products did boost their reputations but Chong wasn’t one of them.
The Dutchman’s contract runs out next summer with there being plenty of talk that he’s seeking a move elsewhere and United not seemingly eager to tie him down.
After his horrendous display vs Astana, it’s tough to argue he should be given a contract and perhaps some of his suitors may be turned off from him too.
May be the last time we ever see Chong play in a Manchester United shirt. Out of all the first team appearances he has failed to impress me once.

Laird, Levitt & Garner all come out with big positives.
I have no more words for Shaw.

The best thing Chong can do for his career now is not search his name on twitter tonight.

Chong was impressive during United’s pre-season so there’s a chance he’s struggling to make his mark due to question marks being over his future.
However, the versatile attacker’s agent is treating the club as though his client is a world-class talent and is publicly flirting with other European sides.
Perhaps Chong will have a better future elsewhere but at this moment in time he’s not doing as much as the likes of Mason Greenwood to convince Solskjaer to play him more often.
