Manchester United produced a wonderful team performance on Saturday to claim a shock 2-1 win over Manchester City – but there was one player who dominated the talk before and after the game.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, known as spiderman, was simply everywhere against the Premier League champions, saving United from the villains in blue – and he did not even need a stupid costume.
All he needed, really, was an inch to play with, and that was enough to nick the ball from the feet of City defenders, time and time again.
Supporters were left drooling from their mouths at the sight of Wan-Bissaka going about his lethal defensive business.
I think this Wan-Bissaka performance is one of the best defensive performances I’ve ever seen.

I genuinely could not care less that Aaron Wan-Bissaka cannot regularly create goals when he constantly prevents them with play like that.

If anyone found Heung Min-Son or Raheem Sterling please let us know. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is still looking for them. Pocketed. pic.twitter.com/k1eEaEqB4I

Against the little teams, when men are behind the ball, Wan-Bissaka does not look as potent.
But, my god, when United have their backs to the wall, it suddenly looks as if the Englishman has somehow become the entire defence, assimilating the life force of those around him and channeling it into a myriad of perfectly timed challenges.
What that means, then, is that this guy is a big game player. A huge character. As future Premier League champion Jurgen Klopp would say, the boy is a “f*cking giant”.
