The club have consistently either bought poorly or ignored the backline but they chose to go all out to get their man this time around.
An estimated £50m is starting to look more and more like a bargain by the week and if Wan-Bissaka remains at United for the next decade, putting in performances such as the one against Manchester City, then the value will certainly be justified.
There have been no major criticisms of the sensational Englishman and it’s a credit to him how quickly he’s adjusted to his new side.
The only minor criticism has been calls for him to improve his offensive abilities, particularly in games when the Red Devils dominate on the ball.

Not to be disrespectful of any of the above but it’s clear the former Crystal Palace man has far more to offer than any of them ever did as a full-back.
It’s been a position severely neglected at Manchester United but in Wan-Bissaka the club have someone who’s not just a high level performer but is also reliable.
