Manchester United fans couldn’t get enough of Donny van de Beek following his impressive performance vs Istanbul Basaksehir in what was a brilliant Champions League night.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer watched on as his team hammered their Turkish opponents, running out 4-1 victors on what was a crucial result.
United still have to face PSG and RB Leipzig for the return fixtures but they will do so from a decent position after winning all three points.
Van de Beek didn’t necessarily steal the headlines but his display was remarkable and thankfully it wasn’t lost on the fans either.
The former Ajax star has been rather limited in terms of his appearances or starts this season but it’s safe to say Solskjaer won’t be able to ignore him for much longer.
People don’t realise we play like this everytime Donny VDB is on the pitch

What more do you want Ole? VDB is unplayable – almost perfect tonight.
I don’t care who gets dropped, I want Donny van da Beek and Bruno Fernandes to start every single game!

Honestly how can Ole look at VDB here tonight and not start him against Southampton? He has been superb

Donny van de Beek is everywhere for Manchester United this evening. Passing tempo centrally (which frees up Fernandes), tackling, clearances, smart movement to limit space for the opponent. Absolutely fantastic first half.

Donny van de Beek has played himself into the starting lineup going forward tonight. That was a performance that showed he can play deeper, pass through the lines of a team sitting deep, create chances and link up play all at the same time. A midfield masterclass.

Van de Beek played in a pivot alongside Fred to a great effect but there are still question marks over that partnership despite the brilliant win.
The young Dutchman displayed impressive defensive capabilities all while being a tidy and creative influence in midfield.
However, Van de Beek and Fred may be a pairing that will struggle in the physicality of the Premier League and so despite his good performance, it’s likely the former will be dropped for the clash vs Southampton on Sunday.
