Manchester United fans were in awe of Edinson Cavani following his remarkable performance vs Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League.
The experienced striker got a rare start for his new team and it’s safe to say he impressed despite not actually getting on the scoresheet.
United managed to put four past their Turkish opponents and although Cavani played the full match, he couldn’t net an effort himself.
However, the powerful Uruguayan blew supporters away with his movement and brilliant work-rate as he did everything possible other than actually scoring.
On another day there’s no doubt Cavani would’ve found himself on the scoresheet and he’ll certainly start to rack them up once he’s completely sharp and fit.
Cavani at 33 can be anywhere around the pitch for the whole game
What a player!!

Edinson Cavani seems to have worked so much on his fitness over the last few weeks even though he barely played for PSG. He was absolutely marshalling the frontline today for Man Utd, like Ole wants his striker to do.
Covered loads of ground, always offered himself to the team.

Christ I love Cavani. So intelligent with his movement, awareness and one-touch play and he’s not afraid to voice his opinion if someone ignores his run.

Let's take a moment and talk about 33 year-old Edison Cavani. He was brillant tonight from his hold up play to his link up play and he chased absolutely everything down
Played tonight like he was 25 again ????

Cavani and Van de Beek making strong cases why they should be starting more regularly. Cavani's work ethic, linking, movement all there and he's not even up to full sharpness yet. Goals will come. VdB passing brings creative dimension to #mufc midfield. Fernandes MOTM again.

Look how deep Cavani drops. Look at his movement.
This isn’t a mercenary. This is someone who works hard and looks for the ball. Who also understands where his team mates are and what work ethic is required. I want him to do so well #mufc— Mack The Knife (@IdMjones) November 24, 2020
Cavani reminded Manchester United fans just what it’s like to have a real centre-forward lead the line and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him feature more often once he’s fully fit.
Anthony Martial was the club’s record goalscorer last season and impressed in the striker role but the former PSG man is just such a natural.
The French forward seemed to enjoy himself on the left-wing vs Istanbul Basaksehir and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seemed to hint he may play that role more often.
