Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has had a more enjoyable season than he’s been given credit for so far but his performance vs Istanbul Basaksehir made it all the more difficult to ignore.
The young forward played as a right-winger in the Champions League group stage clash and still managed to find himself on the scoresheet.
Rashford scored from the spot after winning the penalty and he didn’t look out of place in what is a somewhat unfamiliar position for him.
Solskjaer has a variety of options in his front line but if the academy graduate can turn the right-wing into his own position then it would mean he could play his strongest front three with Edinson Cavani flanked on either side by Rashford and Anthony Martial.
Time will tell what the legendary Norwegian’s long-term plans are but for the time being, he can take full advantage of the talented Englishman.
Marcus Rashford is the youngest player (23y, 24d) to score 15 goals in Europe for #mufc. The previous record holder was Wayne Rooney (23y, 47d) #mulive [sky]

Rashford has picked up where he left off last season and so if he can display more consistency this time around then he will have to be considered amongst the best in the league.
His numbers in the last campaign weren’t all too shabby at all, as he ended it in second place on the club’s goalscoring list, only behind Martial.
However, Rashford had incredibly frustrating spells of poor form and failed to show the type of consistency required to be considered a true great.
