Player ratings: Man United 1-3 Paris St Germain

by Red Billy

Manchester United lost 3-1 to PSG at Old Trafford tonight and now need to get a point in Germany against RB Leipzig to progress to the knockout stages. Here are our player ratings for the game:

(A score of 6 is around average.)

David de Gea 4 – Some good shot-stopping but always beaten at the angles, never comes off his line and kicking terrible. Just makes the whole defence feel shaky.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka 7 – Did well against Neymar and co this evening.

Victor Lindelof 6 – A mixed performance from the Swede – some classy defending but some bad lapses as well.

Harry Maguire 6 – Always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whenever you watch a replay of a conceded goal he’s standing in no man’s land looking gormless.

Alex Telles 7 – Did OK but was bought for his attacking prowess and showed little of that today.

Scott McTominay 8 – Arguably United’s MOTM. Tidy, worked hard and concentrated.

Fred 4 – Poor decision-making in the tackle, which has become a bit of a habit of late.

Marcus Rashford 7 – Looked lively and got the deflected goal, but not on best form at the moment.

Bruno Fernandes 5 – Very wasteful. His worst game in a United shirt by far.

Anthony Martial 4 – Lacking confidence and form. The tap-in scoop over the bar was horrendous.

Edinson Cavani 7 – Our best advanced player, unlucky with the chip that hit the bar and a sublime back heel that deserved someone to finish the move with a goal.

Substitutes

Paul Pogba 7 – Looked keen but was hard to affect the game with only 10 men at that stage.

Mason Greenwood 6 – Had little effect

Donny van de Beek 6 – Had little effect

Odion Ighalo 6 – Had little effect

Edinson Cavani has made quite an impact since his deadline day arrival at Old Trafford, but how much do you know about our other South American players, past and present? Take our quiz below to find out!
