Manchester United showing relegation form at home this season

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United have struggled to impress all season long at home and the statistics don’t make for pretty reading either.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men held Manchester City to a goalless drab draw and it’s safe to say fans weren’t displeased but weren’t all that impressed either.

United seemed to have been set up to counter City’s threats but offered nothing going forward themselves.

Solskjaer could’ve changed the course of the match if he wanted but only made one like for like substitution, taking off Mason Greenwood for Anthony Martial.

The Red Devils have looked a shadow of themselves at Old Trafford this campaign with the worst result being the 6-1 loss to Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur.

It’s safe to say something has to change for Solskjaer if he wants his Manchester United side to pick up more points at home.

It’s also clear there’s no way any team can enjoy a successful season if they’re unable to regularly pick up three points in their own stadium.

Perhaps some of the blame lies in picking too many defensively minded players when United are tasked with winning the match at home.

Nonetheless, their toothlessness is difficult to explain but must change if Solskjaer hopes to keep his job.
