Manchester United join race for Bayern Munich’s David Alaba

Manchester United are reportedly keen on Bayern Munich star David Alaba as they look to pounce on what is a fragile situation.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s desire for a world-class centre-back has been well documented and it’s safe to say the Austrian would be the perfect candidate.

United have been searching for the ideal partner for Harry Maguire who the legendary Norwegian made the most expensive signing in his position.

Some fans haven’t yet been won over by the towering Englishman, with some even feeling he himself needs to be replaced.

Maguire has been partnered with Victor Lindelof all season long with Solskjaer settling on the pair but they haven’t been the most convincing or solid centre-backs in the league.

According to Sport Witness, SportBild report that Alaba once dreamed of joining the Red Devils as a young teen and that the club have joined the long list of competitors such as Manchester City and Barcelona who hope to sign him for free.

The report claims the versatile defender’s situation with the German giants is a close cased, meaning there’s no chance of a renewal.

However, these types of things pop up in the news plenty of times in the past only for a player like Alaba to extend in the last hour.
