Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani produce the goods vs Everton

by Red Billy

Anthony Martial made an immediate impact from the bench this evening as Manchester United eased past Everton to reach the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.

The Frenchman has not been scoring as freely this season as last but his goal contribution over the last few games has been impressive, to say the least.

He has provided four assists and scored two goals – had six goal involvements – in his last three appearances, an incredible output.

He had a hand in Edinson Cavani’s fine goal this evening and then coolly slotted one away himself in injury time after a fantastic run across the face of goal.

Martial has had some stick from a number of fans on social media recently, with many calling for him to be dropped from the side.

Many were frustrated by the fact that he left it until gameweek 13 to get off the mark in the Premier League when he scored one and made one in the 3-2 victory over bottom of the table Sheffield United.

Against Leeds United on Sunday he missed some easy chances but his overall play was exceptional and he provided two assists.

United’s whole forward line is buzzing at the moment, with Cavani, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford also showing blistering form in recent matches.

Edinson Cavani has made quite an impact since his deadline day arrival at Old Trafford, but how much do you know about our other South American players, past and present? Take our quiz below to find out!
