Edinson Cavani becoming the perfect supersub for Manchester United

by Red Billy

Edinson Cavani came off the bench today to help Manchester United win a point against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

The Uruguayan’s impact off the bench since arriving on transfer deadline day has been immense and today’s appearance was no exception.

Within minutes of being on the pitch, the 33-year-old slotted an inch-perfect pass through to Bruno Fernandes for United’s second goal.

It was the fifth goal involvement Cavani has had when coming off the bench in the Premier League this season, two more than any other player despite only being eligible to play from matchday six.

It is apt that a side managed by a man who won the club so many points as a striker coming off the bench now has a modern-day assassin who can change the game in a similar fashion.

Although Cavani is yet to get off the mark at Old Trafford for the Reds, he has now scored four goals and provided an assist in five away games this season – a phenomenal tally for a player still adapting to the Premier League.

Today’s performance from Cavani will once again make it difficult for Solskjaer to not pick him for the Red Devils’ next match, which on this occasion is against Wolves at old Trafford on Tuesday.
