Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that October signing Amad Diallo will join Manchester United immediately, despite reports that Atalanta have asked to keep him on loan until the end of the season.
‘Confirmed. Amad Diallo is set to join Manchester United in January and not in June, despite Atalanta trying to keep him on loan until the end of the season,’ Romano tweeted.
‘Diallo won’t be part Atalanta team for next match against Sassuolo. Solskjaer wants him right now.’

The exciting prospect has only played a total of 59 minutes of senior football for the Italian side, netting a goal in his 13 minute debut in October 2019.
But United’s scouts identified the Ivorian as a special talent after watching skills such as those shown in this video and made the 18-year-old one of the most expensive teenagers in football history.
There are conflicting reports on the fee paid, but Transfermarkt.com records the base fee as €21 million (£18.8m) with add-ons reportedly capable of doubling that amount to €42 million (£37.6m).
Diallo could not join United immediately when he signed on deadline day in October because his lack of game time for Atalanta meant that he was ineligible for a work permit to play in England.
However, he has subsequently been given an Italian passport which should allow him to play in England according to the new Brexit work regulations.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed in his Friday press conference that he expected the move to be completed soon.
‘We’ve had all the paperwork, or we’re waiting for all the paperwork. I can’t see any obstacles really,’ the boss said.
‘Hopefully within not too long he’ll be with us.
‘I’m very excited about bringing him in. I think he’s shown a few times his qualities.’
