Rio Ferdinand reveals who he wants to start for Manchester United

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United great Rio Ferdinand has named a rather exciting group of players he hopes will feature for the club.

Fans are often debating what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s best XI is and who can be brought in to supplement the team but it’s often a struggle to reach an agreement.

Ferdinand has added more fire to the debate by naming some interesting players in his preferred line-up and perhaps surprisingly even excluding one or two who some would’ve included.

The former world-class centre-back played with and against some ridiculously talented players so it’s easy to trust his opinion in that sense.

United fans are in agreement in the fact one or two players are needed to bolster the immediate starting XI though and who Ferdinand picked for that is rather interesting.

Interestingly both Fred and Anthony Martial have missed out on Ferdinand’s starting XI and he’s thrown in Jack Grealish instead of someone like Jadon Sancho.

The Borussia Dortmund star is most fans’ dream signing though the Aston Villa man isn’t the worst of choices either.

It’s certainly a starting line-up that should be able to challenge for the title but United would still need a strong squad overall to compete.

Manchester United have fielded some of the worlds greatest centre backs over the years, but how much do you know about them? Take our quiz below to find out!
