Donny van de Beek proves his worth during win over Watford

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United star Donny van de Beek was probably the only one out of his teammates who came out of the match vs Watford with his reputation intact.

The young Dutchman got a rare start in midfield and it’s safe to say he showed what he can do in the dire 1-0 victory.

It was his midfield partner and captain for the day Scott McTominay who scored the winner but Van de Beek’s silkiness didn’t go unnoticed.

It’s clear to see the former Ajax man is better off used further up the field but he still did a well enough job to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer something to consider.

Van de Beek has been at the centre of much discussion as some fans are furious the legendary Norwegian hasn’t played him more often but perhaps now he’ll reconsider.

Not only is Van de Beek a dangerous footballer but he is remarkably efficient and clean despite playing some rather risky passes.

It’s a testament to his talent and fans hope to see more of Manchester United’s players do something similar.

Whenever Van de Beek plays his football education shows and it becomes obvious he used to play for Ajax.

Not too many of United’s players are capable of maintaining possession under pressure so hopefully they learn more from him in that regard.
