Paul Pogba’s statistics reflect his immense contribution vs Burnley

by Red Billy

Paul Pogba put in a match-winning performance for Manchester United this evening as they overcame a stubborn Burnley side 1-0 to go top of the Premier League for the first time since 2018.

The Frenchman scored the only goal of the game and he was at his phenomenal best, especially throughout the second half.

Even in the first half when he stayed further back, he had more touches than any other United player (44).

The Frenchman has had a mixed season so far but the two goals he has scored have both been United’s first in the game, demonstrating that he has the ability to turn a game.

Pogba’s statistics for the match were incredible. He won 100% of his tackles, had a 90% pass accuracy, won 83% of aerial duels, made 25 final third passes, eight ball recoveries and five clearances, drew four fouls, created two chances and made two interceptions in addition to scoring his goal.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tends to pick the more defensive duo of Scott McTominay and Fred in midfield for games against elite opposition but on this form, it will be extremely hard to drop Pogba for Sunday’s huge match against Liverpool at Anfield.

Manchester United have fielded some of the worlds greatest centre backs over the years, but how much do you know about them? Take our quiz below to find out!
