Manchester United went top of the Premier League for the first time since 2018 this evening as they overcame a stubborn Burnley side to win 1-0 at Turf Moor.

It is the first time that United have been top of the league beyond the 15th week since the Sir Alex Ferguson era and comes on the back of a phenomenal away record in the competition.

The Red Devils are unbeaten in eight games on the road, having won seven.

Several players took to Instagram this evening to celebrate their victory.

Captain Harry Maguire posted “1-0 away win… love it lads. Keep pushing.”

David de Gea posted ‘Don’t stop this feeling.’

Bruno Fernandes posted ‘+3 really important points! Keep pushing lads’

Luke Shaw celebrated the performance and goal of his teammate Paul Pogba, by simply commenting “PP 😍🔥”.

Axel Tuanzebe, who just played a few seconds of the game as a late substitute, was nonetheless delighted to be involved.

United can extend their lead at the top to six points on Sunday if they beat Liverpool at Anfield in a first vs second place showdown.
