Manchester United considering Championship loan offers for Amad Diallo

Ivorian's minutes set to be drastically reduced following Antony's arrival

Two back-to-back wins might have lifted the doom and gloom surrounding Manchester United but Erik ten Hag knows there is still a lot of work left to be done as he tries to mould the squad to his liking.

With just a couple of days left for the transfer window to slam shut, Manchester United are trying their best to get their desired targets in with Erik ten Hag still focussed on improving the squad.

Antony has all but been confirmed by the club while they move forward with a deal for goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. Multiple sources have reiterated that another attacking player might be brought in if Cristiano Ronaldo were to leave before deadline day.

There is also the question of outgoings. United historically have struggled on this front and this summer window has been no different. Due to one reason or the other, quite a lot of fringe players have yet to be moved on permanently.

Then there is the question of loaning out promising youngsters with quite a few needing regular minutes in order to continue their development.

Loan move would suit Amad

One such player is Amad Diallo whose chances of earning first team minutes will have gone down even further following the impending acquisition of Antony.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Ivory Coast international has attracted interest from France, Turkey and Belgium while a couple of Championship clubs are also vying for his signature.

Ligue 1 outfit Nice were credited with an interest but they eventually opted to sign Arsenal misfit Nicolas Pepe. Turkish side Besiktas and Belgian club Anderlecht are also in the fray.

The publication states that United would ideally like Amad to continue his development in England as the conditions would be similar to the one he would face if were to break into the first team in the future.

Two Championship clubs, namely Blackpool and Sunderland have expressed their interest in taking the 20-year-old on loan.

United “are carefully weighing up which offer would be best suited to him” especially after what happened with the Ivorian last season at Scottish giants Rangers.

The former Atalanta youngster could not make his mark at Rangers as he ended up making only 13 appearances, scoring three goals in the process.

Former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had sanctioned the signing of Amad for a huge fee reported to rise to as much as £37million after the youngster played only 76 minutes of senior football for his former Serie A club.

The Abidjan-born footballer has so far made only nine senior appearances since arriving in January 2021. He was a part of the pre-season group under Ten Hag and saw 160 minutes of action eventually culminating in him scoring the final goal of the pre-season campaign against Rayo Vallecano.
