Marcus Rashford: an FPL ‘essential’, says The Athletic

Gameweek 20 in the Fantasy Premier League promises to be an intriguing affair with four teams, namely Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace all being handed gruelling double shifts.

It has been a difficult year for FPL players across the globe with the World Cup taking place in the middle of the season and the constant rescheduling of games as a direct consequence but with the Premier league now back in full flow, the time is nigh to get team selection spot on.

The question is who can instantly improve your team and get you back purring?

There have been many shining lights in the FPL so far but one man has led the way these last few weeks following the World Cup.

Marcus Rashford is in electrifying form.

Having accumulated more fantasy points than any other attacking player in the previous three gameweeks, the 25 year old now looks to have successfully chased away the demons of last year and is a must-have for any and all FPL sides.

United next line up against neighbours City in the Manchester derby looking to avenge their 6-3 defeat in October and the Wythenshawe man will be key for the Red Devils having scored in eight successive home games.

The other fixture in this double header, announced on Sunday following their win against the Toffees in the third-round of the FA Cup, is a tricky one away at Selhurst Park against Patrick Vieira’s Palace.

If Manchester United are to navigate their way through these significant hurdles, Rashford has to start and quite possibly play a starring role.

Three goals as well and an assist in his last three Premier League fixtures suggest he’s well up to the task.

A man in scintillating touch, banging in the goals for United this season who does not look like he’s planning on stopping anytime soon.

Sign him up, lads.
