Manchester United players’ heartwarming reactions to Facundo Pellistri’s debut

Manchester United players have overwhelmingly congratulated Facundo Pellistri for his superb debut in the Carabao Cup against Charlton Athletic.

United players took to social media to express their delight towards the Uruguayan finally making his debut, three years after he arrived at Old Trafford from Penarol.

Overlooked by Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and Ralf Rangnick, Erik ten Hag ended the youngster’s long wait to make his bow in front of the Old Trafford faithful.

Pellistri was brought in in the 84th minute for Anthony Elanga and had an instant impact!

He produced a brilliant cameo and capped it with a fine assist for United’s second of the night.

United players, led by Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes, paid tribute to the 21-year-old via social media and celebrated with him.

Lisandro Martinez and David de Gea also wrote that Pellistri deserved his moment in the limelight. Luis Suarez also offered his congratulations

Shola Shoretire, Rhys Bennett. Zidane Iqbal also followed the same trend.

Reflecting on his dream debut, Pellistri said, “I had the luck to be at Old Trafford in other squads, but unluckily I didn’t enter the pitch to play. I looked at the crowd, and all the time, I thought ‘when will my moment arrive to play?.”

“And today was the day, and I enjoyed it a lot.”

He added, “I am very happy, and I want to help my teammates achieve all the trophies that we have in mind and to win every game we have because this is an incredible club and very big.”

Pellistri also took to Twitter to put across his joy at finally making his debut after a prolonged wait.

The next step for Pellistri is where his immediate future lies. A report detailed that he wants to go on loan this month. A number of clubs have already expressed interest in his services.
