Rio Ferdinand says Casemiro “wipes away” Arsenal’s Thomas Partey in brutal comparison

by Derick Kinoti

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Casemiro is better than Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey.

Looking ahead to the game against Arsenal and United, Ferdinand was tasked with comparing the two central defensive midfielders.

Both players are currently enjoying stellar seasons with their respective clubs.

Since joining United from Real Madrid in the summer, Casemiro has completely transformed the Red Devils’midfield which is now one of the most formidable in the Premier League.

United have won all their games since the end of the World Cup, including most recently against Manchester City.

Casemiro has been crucial to this run.

Partey on the other hand has been a regular fixture in Arsenal’s starting XI, with the gunners sitting at the summit of the Premier League table, with an eight-point gap between them and second-placed City.

Speaking on his Vibe with Five Channel, Ferdinand said, “I think the importance to their teams…you could argue both sides quite equally. But then, when you through the stats in Casemiro wipes him away.”

“I don’t think he [Casemiro] has the impact defensively for Man United, on the ball he’s doing more. On the ball, he’s doing more. He’s dictating play for Arsenal.

“He’s actually playing passes I didn’t know he had. His passing has been unbelievable.”

It’s hard to argue with Ferdinand’s assessment. Casemiro is a serial winner who boasts one of the most trophy-laden careers in the sport.

The Brazilian has created more chances than his Arsenal counterpart – 14 to 13.

Casemiro has also so far registered more tackles than the Ghanian. Partey however leads Casemiro in pass accuracy and progressive delivery of the ball.
