“No!”: Erik Ten Hag’s emphatic response to Valencia’s request for Facundo Pellistri loan

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag blocked a loan move to Valencia for Facundo Pellistri.

This month, Pellistri has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford, with a number of clubs interested in his services.

Alongside Flamengo, Valencia and Bologna were also keen on the Uruguayan.

Pellistri’s agent, La Silva, said that many other clubs around Europe had established contact to ask about his client’s availability.

According to Fabrizio Romano, however, there is no chance that Pellistri will leave on loan before the window shuts down on Tuesday.

Romano reports that Ten Hag rebuffed Valencia’s inquiries for the 21-year-old winger.

“Valencia made a proposal for Facundo Pellistri, Ten Hag said no,” he said.

It seems that Ten Hag is now counting on Pellistri and that the player has broken into his plans.

Against Reading, the attacker came on as a substitute and produced another good cameo. Pellistri also played a part in United’s 3-0 first-leg victory Carabao Cup victory against Nottingham Forest.

Before the game against Reading, Ten Hag confirmed that Pellistri, like Alejandro Garnacho, will be given opportunities to impress.

One player who could go out on loan is Anthony Elanga. The Swede has struggled for minutes this season.

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are admirers of the United academy graduate, as are PSV Eindhoven who are in need of a forward after Cody Gakpo and Noni Madueke’s departures.

As per Romano, Elanga has been the subject of up to 10 clubs.

A final decision on Elanga’s immediate future has not been made and things will become clearer in the next 24-48 hours.

From this, it seems clear that Pellistri has moved above Elanga in the pecking order.
