Manchester United have already lifted the Carabao Cup and are in the semifinals of the FA Cup and quarterfinals of the Europa League.
Adding multiple trophies in his first season would be considered a success but Erik ten Hag knows that the squad needs strengthening in key areas if the team are to compete for the biggest honours.
The midfield and attack are two areas that are in need of reinforcements. United have had to play Bruno Fernandes in pretty much all the games as the club do not have a quality alternative.
Mount’s versatility useful for United
With Mason Mount and Chelsea yet to agree a contract agreement, there have been reports that the Blues are open to offloading their academy graduate for the right price.
Liverpool and United have been mentioned as potential suitors with Ten Hag an admirer of Mount’s positional versatility, which means he can play all across the midfield if needed.
And Givemesport have now mentioned that Mount might not be the only Chelsea player under consideration at Old Trafford.
With the club in the middle of a takeover, there is no clarity with regards to the transfer budget that will be made available and thus the club could seek other alternatives.
Pulisic could offer different attacking focus
As reported by The Peoples Person, both Facundo Pellistri and Anthony Elanga could be loaned out and with Antony and Jadon Sancho still struggling to adapt, a new winger could be brought in and Marcus Rashford shifted up front.
The new winger being eyed is Chelsea star Christian Pulisic. He was also a target for the club in the summer and it seems United are still keeping tabs.
“Manchester United have reignited their interest in the USA international and are considering a summer move.
“With Jadon Sancho struggling, Antony lacking consistency and fitness, and potential loans for Facundo Pellestri and Alejandro Garnacho, United are looking at profiles like Pulisic, and they really appreciate the player,” the report mentioned.
Pulisic was a huge star back in his Borussia Dortmund days but he just has not clicked at Chelsea. While he remains a quality player, United should try and bring in a striker instead of the USA international.
