England’s national team manager Gareth Southgate vented his frustration at the unavailability of Marcus Rashford for the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
The Manchester United striker pulled out of the squad after picking up an injury in the FA Cup clash v Fulham.
Rashford posted pictures of himself in New York on Instagram hours before England’s clash versus Italy.
Southgate was asked about the 25 year old’s absence, to which he replied:
“Well, the feeling was he was playing really well, but we haven’t often had him.”
“So, in terms of a loss when you haven’t had him that often, then it’s different to being a loss. But without a doubt, he was in good form.”
“We were looking forward to seeing him.”
Erik ten Hag would be happy to see his star man taking a much-deserved break before another gruelling April.
Rashford has been one of Man United’s standout players this season.
His goals have single-handedly carried the team’s attack.
The Englishman has played the second-most minutes for United this campaign, highlighting his importance to Ten Hag.
United fans will hope to see him fit and raring to go in the final stretch of the season.
