Video: Casemiro’s cheeky jig during Man United’s penalty shootout against Brighton

Manchester United went through to the final of the FA Cup after beating Brighton on penalties at Wembley.

United’s winning penalty was converted by an unlikely player – Victor Lindelof. The Swede made no mistake from the spot-kick as he buried his effort into the top-right corner.

With fans and players engrossed in the nerve-racking shootout, the calmest man at Wembley was probably Casemiro.

Casemiro played all 120 minutes and produced a defensive masterclass from the middle of the park to help his side advance to their second final of the season.

The Brazilian was particularly impressive considering he played a huge chunk of the game walking a tightrope after being booked during the opening 45 minutes.

As the shootout was going on, Casemiro was filmed performing a dance around the centre circle.

The sensational defensive midfielder was seen on camera cheerfully jumping up and down while flapping his arms around.

Casemiro was perhaps trying to distract Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, whose main task was keeping out United’s penalties from going in.

Casemiro later assumed his position next to Marcus Rashford when David de Gea took his position between the sticks.

Another video that has surfaced on social media shows Casemiro volunteering to take the first penalty.

As United were in a team huddle receiving instructions and possibly words of encouragement from Erik ten Hag, Casemiro raises his hand and gestured to everyone that he will go first.

He was granted the opportunity and put the ball into the back of the net, effectively setting the tone for the rest of his teammates, none of whom missed.
