Manchester United have the advantage in Victor Osimhen transfer race

by Derick Kinoti

Manchester United have a slight advantage over all other interested parties in the race to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

United’s interest in Osimhen is an open secret, with Erik ten Hag looking to bolster his options in the attacking department.

Alongside Osimhen, the Red Devils also have Harry Kane on their transfer list as the summer transfer window approaches.

The Peoples Person covered a report which relayed that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has placed a hefty €150m price tag on Osimhen’s head.

Chelsea and United are Osimhen’s strongest suitors with Bayern Munich no longer pursuing the Nigerian.

Earlier today, it was relayed that United are open to walking away from a potential deal to lure Osimhen to Old Trafford.

Club chiefs are reluctant to meet Napoli’s demands for their prolific talisman.

According to Il Mattino via SportWitness, “there’s a queue” in the Premier League to sign Osimhen but United retain a “slight advantage over everyone.”

United’s edge arises from the fact that they tried to sign the 24-year-old last summer.

The 20-time English champions had made an effort to offer Cristiano Ronaldo in exchange for Osimhen but this did not materialize.

A year later, United could launch another attempt to sign the ex-Lille man.

Il Mattino also revealed, “Osimhen has been silent about his future for weeks, he celebrated the Scudetto, he rejoiced but he said nothing about his future.”

“Throwing everyone into anguish. And it is normal that he scans the horizon thoughtfully. The impression is that all hell is about to break loose in Europe.”

Osimhen has notched 28 goals and five assists for Gli Azzurri this term.
