Manchester United duo Mason Mount and Harry Maguire were spotted in training ahead of an EFL Cup third-round clash against Crystal Palace on Tuesday.
Erik ten Hag who has had to deal with multiple injuries to key players will be boosted by the return of the two England internationals.
Mount has not featured for United since the defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in his side’s second match of the season.
Also present during training was Maguire.
The 30-year-old has missed United’s last two games against Bayern Munich and Burnley respectively.
During the Burnley game, Maguire’s absence which was made worse by Lisandro Martinez’s unavailability forced Ten Hag into starting Jonny Evans alongside Victor Lindelof.
Evans was sensational and on top of registering an assist for Bruno Fernandes’ stunning goal, also saw a goal ruled out by VAR.
Maguire’s return will give Ten Hag and the team a little breathing room.
The Manchester Evening News reports that both Mount and Maguire are in contention to play against Crystal Palace as the Red Devils kickstart their defence of the Carabao Cup.
Raphael Varane and Sofyan Amrabat also took part in the training session at Carrington.
Varane played the last few minutes of the game at Turf Moor.
Amrabat finally made his long-awaited United debut vs. the Clarets. The Moroccan slotted in at left-back during the dying minutes of the affair.
The midfielder will certainly be hoping for a start as he looks to finally get his United career underway.
United also confirmed via the club’s official website that several youngsters trained with the senior squad including Dan Gore and James Nolan.
