Manchester United came back from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park. Here are our player ratings from the game.

(A score of 6 is around average)

Senne Lammens 5 – A couple of decent saves while facing the sun, but sent the wrong way for both of Jean-Philippe Mateta’s penalty kicks.

Leny Yoro 3 – Another tough game. Looked sloppy and recklessly gave away the penalty from which Palace took the lead.

Matthijs de Ligt 4 – An unusually poor performance this season. Nervy start and struggled to contain Mateta. Very fortunate his slip in the first half went unpunished.

Luke Shaw 7 – United’s best defender on his 300th game for the club. Stood tall when those around him were losing their heads. Produced a crunching last-man tackle to deny Palace what appeared to be a certain goal.

Amad 5 – Not as influential as he usually is. Came alive slightly more in the second half and even had a crack at goal, but he fired his effort over the bar.

Casemiro 5 – Missed two very good chances that would have seen him get on the score sheet. Another who grew into his stride once the second half began and United started to take control of the contest.

Bruno Fernandes 8.5 – Proper captain’s performance! He didn’t score but United would have certainly lost the game without his contributions. Provided both assists with a masterclass in creativity and vision. He was constantly pointing and directing his teammates about where to go and which positions to assume. What a player!

Diogo Dalot 4 – Just doesn’t offer enough attacking output as a wing-back.

Bryan Mbeumo 6 – Worked hard as usual and threatened, especially in the second period.

Mason Mount 8 – Took his goal extremely well to give United the lead and turn the game around.

Patrick Dorgu 5 – Introduced in the dying embers of the game to get the win over the line.

Kobbie Mainoo 5 – Same as Dorgu.

Joshua Zirkzee 8 – Sensational touch and hold-up play before firing the ball into the back of the net from an extremely tight angle. That goal will give him a lot of confidence.

Substitutes

Noussair Mazraoui 6 – An improvement on Yoro today.

Lisandro Martinez 6 – Nice to see him back on the pitch after a lengthy period on the sidelines with an ACL injury. Came on to a rousing reception from the visiting supporters.
