Henriquez touted the ‘Spanish saviour’ as David Villa ambition comes to fruition

Angelo Henriquez continued his fine start to his loan spell at Real Zaragoza by scoring two goals in their 4-2 victory over Mallorca in Spain’s Segunda Division today.

The 19-year-old’s brace now means that he has scored four goals in his first five appearances for Zaragoza and Mundo Deportivoas well as other Spanish media outlets including CDF, has heavily praised the Chilean’s ‘lethal’ finishing.

Henriquez laid out his ambition to follow in the footsteps of David Villa in Spanish football as soon as he made the loan move to Zaragoza and he is certainly showing he has the goalscoring ability to do so.

In his limited appearances with United last year, Henriquez’s natural ability to find the net was clear from his very first game with the Under-21s when he was in the right place at the right time to net a header.

He followed that up by a brilliant performance at the U20 World Cup with Chile which earned him his loan spell away at Zaragoza and when given the opportunity with the first team in pre-season this year against AIK Fotboll, he scored once again to underline his clinical finishing.

There are strikers galore at United right now but if Henriquez can spearhead Zaragoza to promotion back up to La Liga this year like so many hope he can, he’ll be giving David Moyes no option but to give him an opportunity to impress with United’s first team.
