Robin van Persie did not take part in full training with Holland today as Louis van Gaal didn’t want to risk any further aggravation of a toe injury, according to Voetbal International.
The 30-year-old has not looked fully fit this season for Manchester United and it seems that he is struggling with an ongoing toe injury.
In his time at Arsenal, van Persie suffered a lot of injuries whilst on international duty and David Moyes will no doubt be concerned that it could flare up if he played in both World Cup qualifiers.
So far in his time at United, van Persie has managed to hold his fitness and it would be a massive blow if he were to be ruled out for any extended period of time. He has already missed game time this year with a thigh injury and he is far from his fluent best on the pitch right now for United.
Last year, van Persie was the catalyst for United regaining the Premier League and as good as Wayne Rooney’s form has been, Moyes will want to have the pair of them firing on all cylinders this season.
