The best move for Adnan Januzaj

by Sam Peoples

Blackburn want to take Adnan Januzaj on loan for the season according to the Daily Mirror.

The 18-year-old enjoyed a brilliant pre-season tour of Asia with Manchester United but is yet to feature in a match day squad for David Moyes in the Premier League.

Although his exclusion from United’s Champions League group stage squad doesn’t mean he can’t play in the competition (any B list player can be added 24 hours before a match), it does indicate that a loan move is likely given that Jesse Lingard and Larnell Cole were both given places.

While a move to the Championship would no doubt get him that vital first team experience, many believe he is ready to play in the Premier League. Crystal Palace would be a good move for everyone involved; they sold us Zaha last year, Holloway is a good manager and they could really benefit from having a playmaker as talented as Januzaj in the squad.

The worry with sending Januzaj on loan to a Premier League team is that it could turn out to be as wasteful as Angelo Henriquez’s spell at Wigan last year where he hardly got any game time at all, so a move to the Championship may be a safer bet.

There is no guarantee that Januzaj will be going on loan this year but the earlier he can get a full season of first team action under his belt, the faster his career can progress. He would feature sparingly under Moyes this year so as long as he gets the minutes, a loan move would certainly benefit Januzaj.
