Juan Mata is expected to undergo his medical in Manchester later today and the club would follow the conclusion of a successful medical by announcing him officially as a Manchester United player. Unless something drastic happens tomorrow to stop this transfer, Mata will move to Old Trafford.

Ilkay Gundogan could follow Mata through the doors and sources close to the club suggest that a swap deal involving Shinji Kagawa plus cash would be enough to entice Borussia Dortmund to sell Gundogan.

Fredy Guarin was linked with us last week but nothing materialised past agent chitter chatter. However, The Telegraph believe that the injury to Michael Carrick will force United back into the market and the available Guarin is a possibility says Mark Ogden.

Wayne Rooney’s agent Paul Stretford has been in discussions with United this week over a potential new contract for the 28-year-old. Rooney has 18 months left on his contract and there has been reported interest from Real Madrid so if United wanted him to sign a new deal, they may have to fend off interest from Madrid.

Javier Hernandez wants to leave United in order to find more first team football according to The Mirror. Chicharito has been out of favour this season and has struggled when he has been given the opportunity and David Moyes has made it clear with his selection that Chicharito may struggle to ever hold down a regular starting spot.
