Manchester United players will be content with the season they have just had.

Season

After finishing a diabolical fifteenth last season, the Red Devils returned to normality with a third-place finish this season.

Results particularly turned around after Michael Carrick took over in mid-January, and United stormed up the table.

Noussair Mazraoui played his role this season, but perhaps not as much as he would have liked due to injury issues.

The Moroccan’s campaign was interrupted by his involvement over the winter in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Morocco lost the final to Senegal but were awarded a 3-0 win in March after the Senegalese were punished for leaving the pitch in protest.

Overall, Mazraoui played 20 games this season without scoring or assisting. In fact, he only managed 984 minutes for United in the Premier League and did not play in the FA Cup or League Cup.

Morocco call-up

In spite of his lack of game time at Old Trafford, Mazraoui will surely play an important role for Morocco in the upcoming World Cup.

He played in every match of their AFCON success and has once again been called up to the national team for the World Cup.

The Atlas Lions go into the tournament as one of the dark horses to go far, as they also reached the semi-final in 2022.

Mazraoui has represented his nation 43 times, scoring two goals in the process.

So far, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot have been called up to Portugal’s squad, while Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford will play for England.

Matheus Cunha has been confirmed in the Brazil squad alongside Casemiro. Amad has also been called up by the Ivory Coast.

Lisandro Martinez will represent Argentina, while Manuel Ugarte is going with Uruguay.
