Victor Lindelof snubs all transfer interest as he intends to remain at Manchester United

by Derick Kinoti

Victor Lindelof has reportedly snubbed all transfer interest in him ahead of the close of the transfer window, with the defender keen on staying at Manchester United for the 2024/25 season.

Lindelof is believed to be one of the players United have been opening to selling all summer.

The Swede joined United in 2017 for an initial fee of around ÂŁ29m. He only made 19 Premier League appearances last season as he was dogged by injuries.

He has been linked to several clubs, both in Europe and abroad.

Lindelof has been mentioned to be on the radar of outfits such as Fiorentina, Eintracht Frankfurt and clubs from the Saudi Pro League.

Serie A giants Lazio were the latest side to have expressed interest in the 30-year-old.

However, a recent report covered by The Peoples Person noted that Lazio abandoned their pursuit of the United No.2 after deeming the operation as too costly.

It’s understood that Lindelof’s high wages put them off and so they turned their attention elsewhere.

Earlier today, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano explained that the situation was very quiet and that there was little chance of him departing Old Trafford on deadline day.

This has been re-affirmed by Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, who notes that the player himself rebuffed overtures from his suitors.

Longari wrote on X, “Lindelof has not taken into consideration the expressions of interest received and intends to remain at Manchester United.”

According to Alfredo Pedulla, Lindelof will determine his own future in January.

It’s important to note that the defender has entered the final 12 months of his United contract and is poised to leave as a free agent next summer.
