Manchester United youngsters made a splash on international duty on Friday.

Jacob Devaney impressed for the Republic of Ireland under-21s against Moldova on Thursday.

James Scanlon also played the entire match in Gibraltar’s 0-1 defeat to Latvia.

The United youngster has not had much game time this season despite injuries to Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez.

Instead, he has had to settle for spots on the bench and the occasional appearance in the last few minutes to help hold onto a result.

He did play regularly under Ruben Amorim over the Christmas period, but in fact, he has only managed a total of 24 minutes of action under Michael Carrick.

Heaven was recently given the honour of training with the England senior team this week and impressed in the under-20s’ 3-3 draw with Italy.

He powered in a header from a corner to give England a 3-0 lead in Rome.

The defender has not yet scored a senior goal for United but did get on the scoresheet in the post-season friendly against Hong Kong last summer.

The young forward has found it tough to get consistent game time at Rotherham United since his loan move in January.

In fact, he is still waiting for his first senior goal with the Millers.

Nonetheless, it did not take him long to get on the scoresheet in Wales under-21s’ 2-0 win over Belarus.

His goal came after 15 minutes of play to give the hosts the lead.

He showed fantastic striking instinct to put away his chance after the visitors failed to clear a cross.
