Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has seemingly confirmed that there is no chance of him returning to Barcelona this summer.

Rashford spent the 2025/26 season out on loan at Barcelona. He managed 14 goals and as many appearances across all competitions, helping the club retain their La Liga crown.
Despite his contributions, Barcelona still opted against triggering the £26m option to make his stay permanent.
Barcelona proposed another season-long loan deal or purchasing the player for half of what had been agreed with United. The Red Devils made it clear there was no room for fresh discussions.
Whispers of a revived Barcelona pursuit lingered, but those hopes were effectively extinguished by the arrivals of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle and Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund.
At present, Rashford remains scheduled to return to Carrington for pre-season training upon the completion of his post-World Cup hiatus.
It’s said that Michael Carrick is prepared to work with Rashford, with whom he has a good relationship.
Now, the Carrington academy graduate has taken to social media to bid Barcelona farewell.
Rashford’s message
He wrote, “I’m very grateful to everyone at the club for making my time here such a positive and memorable experience.”
“I’ve enjoyed every moment and will take many special memories with me.”
“I wish the club and all its supporters the very best of luck and every success in the season ahead.”
“Visca el Barça.”
If United are unable to offload Rashford, it’s highly unlikely that they will sign a left-winger. Iliman Ndiaye and Ismaila Sarr have been mentioned to be on the club’s radar.
