Marcus Rashford: Fenerbahce ready to break the bank to land Man United winger

The future of Marcus Rashford is proving to be an intriguing subplot to Manchester United’s transfer plans this summer.

The Mancunian is currently the highest earner in the squad, and his sale would go a long way in helping INEOS land one of their top midfield targets or even Lewis Hall.

Barcelona opted against triggering the Englishman’s buy option, while European elites have stayed away due to the forward’s wage demands.

However, there is one club willing to break the bank to land the 28-year-old, a move the Red Devils would be willing to entertain.

Fenerbahce ready to break the bank for Marcus Rashford

According to The Sun, Fenerbahce are keen on the England international and are ready to pay big to sign him this summer.

“FENERBAHCE are ready to break the bank to lure Marcus Rashford to Turkey in one of the biggest moves of the summer.

“SunSport understands Rashford is on a three-man shortlist for the Turkish giants that also includes AC Milan winger Rafael Leao and Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr.

“Fenerbahce have already held talks with Leao but have so far failed to agree a deal. They have also contacted the representatives of Sarr, who is represented by the same agent as Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.

Marcus Rashford needs to take a call on his future soon

“Rashford’s representatives have also been contacted over a prospective move as Fenerbahce look to back new manager Ismail Kartal with a squad capable of challenging rivals Galatasaray.”

The report does not make it clear whether that means they are ready to pay his substantial wages or if they are willing to match INEOS’ asking price of £40 million.

The 20-time English league champions would prefer to move their former No.10 on before he rejoins pre-season training.

Head coach Michael Carrick is open to reintegrating the Carrington graduate, especially now that the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Iliman Ndiaye are unlikely to join them.

United’s remaining left-wing options

United only have Matheus Cunha and Patrick Dorgu who can play there, and the duo are not specialists in that position. Academy recruits Tynan Thompson and Enzo Kana-Biyik could emerge as options if Marcus Rashford leaves.

The player has reiterated in the past that a move to Turkiye does not excite him at this stage of his career, but he also does not want to remain at Old Trafford after his acrimonious departure under former boss Ruben Amorim.

Should no other permanent offers arrive, it will be interesting to see what the attacker decides as deadline day nears.
