Manchester United lost 4-2 to Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan in Wroclaw, Poland this afternoon. Here are our player ratings from the game.
(A score of 6 is around average)
Ratings
Senne Lammens 6 – Made some great saves and commanded his area in the first half. Needs a much better defence in front of him than this.
Nous Mazraoui 5 – Clearly still rusty and needed these minutes, but on this showing he’ll be replaced by Dalot at right-back next Saturday.
Harry Maguire 5 – Superb goal at the start but then made a big contribution to Milan’s equaliser when he inexplicably fell to his knees and upended Andrey Santos. Also completely lost Ramos for the third.
Ayden Heaven 5 – Looked shaky today.
Luke Shaw 2 – Didn’t join any attacks until the 77th minute. Was just coasting and left way too much space for Milan’s second and third goals. Really bad outing for the 31 year old.
Andrey Santos 6.5 – Put himself about a bit but this was his least impressive pre-season outing.
Youri Tielemans 6.5 – Threaded a couple of decent through balls through and was fouled for the penalty. A decent if not spectacular first start.
Amad 7 – Superb pressing and good aggression, he was one of United’s brightest sparks today.
Bruno Fernandes 4 – An uncharacteristically lazy performance and missed the penalty. Not vintage Bruno.
Patrick Dorgu 7 – Looked bright early doors but didn’t produce much other than the goal, which he took well.
Matheus Cunha 6 – Was feeding off scraps. Saw very little of the ball.
Substitutes
Marcus Rashford 6 – Tried to get involved but United were too busy defending like a team of 8 year olds.
Kobbie Mainoo 6 – Pretty invisible.
Bryan Mbeumo 6 – Didn’t see much of the ball.
Diogo Dalot 6 – Didn’t get too involved.
Lisandro Martinez 4 – Completely exposed for Milan’s fourth. Played a good ball through to Rashford near the end.
Shea Lacey 6 – Looked lively but didn’t achieve much.
