Fenerbahce are reportedly refusing to give up on completing a deal for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, a new report has suggested.
Fenerbahce interest
Rashford made his United return last weekend as he and his teammates fell to a humiliating 2-0 opening-day defeat to Premier League newcomers Hull City.
He came off the bench during the break and looked bright, but was unable to rescue his side at the MKM Stadium.
The England international spent last season on loan at Barcelona and impressed there, contributing 14 goals and as many assists as the Catalan giants successfully retained their La Liga crown. But the Blaugrana opted against signing him permanently.
Hansi Flick’s side proposed another loan deal and potentially buying him for half the price that was initially agreed with United. The Red Devils made it clear there was no room for fresh discussions.
Rashford, who is under contract until 2028, has since been handed United’s iconic No.9 shirt. His appearance at Hull came more than 18 months after his last competitive outing for the club, against Viktoria Plzen in December 2024.
The 28-year-old continues to be linked with an exit ahead of the close of the window next Tuesday, and it has been suggested that Fenerbahce are interested in his signature.
Rashford, for his part, is understood to be reluctant to make the switch to Turkey, despite the prospect of linking up again with Mason Greenwood and Romelu Lukaku.
According to A Spor, Fenerbahce are still pushing to snap up the Carrington academy graduate.
Final push?
According to A Spor, Fenerbahce are poised to ramp up their activities in the transfer market after beating Lyon and securing their place in the Champions League for the 2026/27 campaign.
Fenerbahce are building a team with European ambitions and believe Rashford is the man to help them get there.
Club president Cihan Kamer will jet to England after the Champions League draw later this evening to hold talks for Rashford’s signature.
It remains to be seen whether Kamer’s mission will ultimately prove successful.
