Adrien Truffert’s stance on Man United transfer emerges as Red Devils line up move for £60m star

Manchester United spent a significant portion of the summer transfer window focusing on Lewis Hall.

The England international was considered their priority target to compete with and eventually replace Luke Shaw. However, the Red Devils acted too late to make a formal move.

Newcastle United shut up shop after losing some of their biggest stars and have now convinced Hall to sign a long-term contract at St James’ Park, effectively forcing the Mancunians to look elsewhere.

Manchester United “line up move” for Adrien Truffert

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United are closely monitoring Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert.

United are set to prioritise the addition of a new left-back in the coming days and reportedly regard Truffert as a top target and a leading alternative to replace Shaw, with “the club already laying the groundwork for a possible move.”

The 24-year-old Frenchman only joined the Cherries from Rennes last summer and quickly established his place in their lineup, starting every Premier League game.

Now valued at £60 million, Truffert was directly involved in six league goals, impressing with his stamina, progressive running, and crossing ability.

What Adrien Truffert wants

It is understood that a move to a club the size of United would be difficult for Truffert to ignore.

United have been “unusually open about their interest, a sign that they would not publicise their admiration so freely unless they believed the player wanted the move.”

“In modern football, clubs of United’s stature typically only become this transparent when they already have a clear indication of the player’s stance,” the report underlines.

The France international’s contract with Bournemouth runs until 2030.

It should be noted that Alex Scott was willing to join United this summer, but Bournemouth managed to keep hold of him despite his deal expiring in 2028.
