It remains unclear where Joshua Zirkzee will play his football next season.
The Dutch striker is not being pushed out, yet every suggestion points to him potentially leaving before the transfer deadline.
Indeed, whenever the Red Devils’ attacking transfer plans come up, sources emphasise that a striker signing remains under consideration, though only should Zirkzee depart.
Juventus heavily linked with Zirkzee’s services
For most of this summer, Juventus have pushed to sign him.
However, while the Old Lady has proposed a straight loan deal, INEOS would rather agree a permanent transfer or a loan with an option to buy.
The Bianconeri are yet to approach the Red Devils with such an offer, meaning the potential transfer has seen no progress.
For a while now, it has remained uncertain whether they will return for Zirkzee at all. But given what Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting, Juventus will likely have to act soon or risk missing out on the United number 11.
Napoli to spoil Juventus’ transfer plans
Di Marzio has revealed: “Napoli isn’t just looking at Gabriel Jesus to strengthen their attack after Lukaku’s departure. In addition to the Brazilian’s name, the Azzurri have also made inquiries about Zirkzee and Jackson.
“Both are on their way out of Manchester United and Chelsea, respectively, and Napoli has inquired about them.”
The Italian transfer insider further claims the plan involves letting Noa Lang leave, with Atalanta looking to sign him on loan, after which Napoli will pursue one of the Premier League strikers.
Alarm bells should therefore be ringing in Turin.
As keen as the Partenopei are on bolstering their attack, they may well be willing to meet United’s demands for Zirkzee.
Consequently, any dilly-dallying from Juventus could cost them this deal. So, if they genuinely want Zirkzee, as suggested, they have no choice but to act, and act now.

TPP view
Should Zirkzee leave Man United, a return to Serie A appears highly likely. That is where he truly shone, and it is also where the bulk of current interest lies. Italian clubs are therefore the ones to watch closely should he move on.
